Metro Vancouver's Park Worker position at Capilano River Regional Park includes a variety of different roles and responsibilities: safely and efficiently operating an assortment of vehicles, machines and tools; aiding the public with park information, bylaws, event policies, and directions; methodically cleaning park grounds, facilities and waste disposal bins; performing regular trail maintenance and patrols; and providing assistance to nearby Grouse Mountain and Lynn Headwaters Regional Parks whenever needed.

I worked one full-time summer and two part-time winters in Mountain Operations. During the summer, the Mountain Crew team is essentially a landscaping operation. In the winter, Mountain Crew is responsible for ice/snow removal, ice rink maintenance, setting up and dismantling of winter attractions/events, crowd control, and the safe operation of gas-powered tools/vehicles (snowcats, bobcats, snow plows, etc.).
