Mr. McCoy is the Founder of American Ostrich Farms and has served as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer from inception. An Idaho native, Mr. McCoy spent his early career in investment banking and venture capital before moving to India, and then to South Africa and Brazil for various roles in public and private international finance. In Africa, Mr. McCoy worked at Citigroup, where he was a lead banker on transactions for large multinational consumer packaged goods companies. It was also in South Africa that he first discovered ostrich—the perfect food for a lifelong carnivore, athlete, and health nut concerned about the impact his meat-loving ways were having on the environment. Alexander saw an enormous opportunity for this animal to transform the way Americans think about red meat back home in the U.S. and founded American Ostrich Farms in 2013. In addition to being 97% fat-free, lower in cholesterol, and higher in iron than beef, pound for pound, ostrich production requires dramatically less water, less feed, less land, and creates virtually no methane and less waste than any other red meat on the market. Mr. McCoy’s time in Africa provided him a lifetime of consumer products inspiration and he is pleased to be putting it to work to build AOF and offer Americans a healthy, sustainable source of red meat. When Alexander isn't working on the future of sustainable agriculture, he can usually be found hiking, biking, or skiing in the Idaho mountains with his wife and two young girls. Mr. McCoy holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MPA from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.Visit us online at americanostrichfarms.com
