At Morgan Sound, a commercial A/V systems integrator, I was able to combine my audio and computer experience into A/V control system programming. I gained practical experience in interfacing with various hardware via a range of connectivity options, parsing protocols, designing and configuring wired and Wi-Fi Ethernet networks, low-level troubleshooting, and designing user interfaces, to name a few. This has been invaluable in the transition to web development, as it has provided a strong understanding of how systems communicate with each other and the things that can go wrong in between. It has also been helpful knowledge when it comes to serializing data in and out of queues or databases, and creating machine-readable APIs.During my time here I also streamlined programming projects by separating configuration from implementation and leveraging code generation, templating, and automation.
