Led the development of high-load websites. One of our customers was the biggest European website about wine: wein-plus.eu. When working on wine-plus.eu, the following was implemented:• The old, hard to maintain code on PHP4 was completely rewritten to Laravel 5 and PHP 7• Used Laravel 5 framework, MySQL database and ElasticSearch as the basis of back-end, building scalable high-performance website• Data from an old database was migrated to the new structure, using normalization technics • Website parts were divided into independent components, services and plugins so that they could be easily maintained and would be replaceable in the future• Used Bootstrap, JavaScript and jQuery for front-endCreating a new version of wine-plus has dramatically facilitated future maintenance and extensibility, led to reducing database size by dozens of gigabytes.
