In my time working at the Auburn University RFID Lab, I have performed thousands of quality assurance tests ensuring new RFID chips from multiple inlay manufacturers, such as Tageos and Avery, meet or exceed global and domestic testing policies set by the Federal Communications Commission and European Telecommunications Standards Institute. Working with end users in retail, aviation, and manufacturing has enabled me to network with dozens of people across all types of industries and has taught me a lot about the mechanics of the supply chain. It's always a fun experience checking luggage at an airport and seeing inlays on the hang tags knowing I've contributed to the testing that put it there.Being a part of a global industry requires constant dialogue and exchange. Working in a small, devoted team with intense weekly deadlines has taught me the value of clear and concise communication. It also taught me the importance of celebrating accomplishments when our team goes above and beyond to ensure our deliverables are met in times of heavy workloads and unexpected events. Developing procedure documentation and active proficiency demonstrations for training newly onboarded coworkers has also bolstered my communication skills by requiring me to simplify complex tasks into understandable steps.

As a barista, I have been able to grow my customer service skills by attending to patron's needs as it relates to food and care. Being a public-facing food service provider, especially during a pandemic, required me to practice active listening in order to interpret and understand customer wants and needs. Attending to these in a timely and friendly manner helped in growing my interpersonal communication skills due to the collaborative nature of working with multiple bar mates and utilizing nonverbal and verbal cues to successfully create the customer's product. Working through a pandemic showed me the importance of adaptability in an organization. Responding to the changing work environment required innovating the ways in which I structured my tasks to address the growth of contactless ordering.
