About Alex Johnson

I have a passion for retail design and the challenges, opportunities, and outcomes that come with it.It is exciting time to witness and be part of the ever changing retail environment that we are not only experiencing today, but will continue to experience in the years to come. I firmly believe that even with the ever growing online presence that there will always be a need and a place for brick-and-mortar in the retail world. As we embark on a journey into an entirely new world of brick-and-mortar it is crucial that retailers and brands continue to invest in their built environments by not only creating inspiring and unique experiences but by also finding a way to connect, understand, and provide for their guests. The creation of those experiences along with the ability to influence and evoke emotion through design are some of the greatest things I find joy in when it comes to retail design. With each project I complete I strive to understand to the fullest the needs, aspirations and experience that need to be fulfilled. In addition, it is always important for me to understand the guest in which I am designing an experience for so that the space can truly inspire and fulfill the expectations a guest may have for that brand or company. As my journey in retail design continues I am so excited to be able to design and develop impactful and inspiring retail environments for the brick-and-mortar world.

Founded in 2012, The Development Tracker reports on the latest development news within three different Minnesota cities (Minneapolis, St. Paul and Duluth). The Development Tracker was created for the everyday citizen, not necessarily the business individual like most real estate publications typically cater to. The idea is that everyone has a right to know what is going up in their neighborhood and city. By presenting content in an approachable and easy to understand way, we believe TDT can make an impact in not only the development scene of a city, but also in the lives of those who call that city home.TDT has an immense presence on social media through Instagram and Facebook where individuals can not only find out the latest in development news, but also participate in two weekly question series. Our websites are another platform where individuals can check out the latest development news in addition to interactive development maps, opening calendars and more. www.tdtmpls.comwww.tdtstp.comwww.tdtduluth.com
