About Alejandro Montesinos Abati

Describing a person’s profile simply by listing professional experiences and academic titles seems insufficient. People are more complex than that, so here's a little bit more about myself.I am a curious person; I am interested in how things work, all of them: mechanical, social, psychological... I always want to learn more. As a teenager I asked my father, an engineer, how engines work. He handed me a book from his university years and said “if you really want to know, here’s the answer”. That taught me a very valuable lesson; I still have that 35th edition of Arias-Paz’s “Manual del Automóvil” in my shelf. My first computer was a 1983 Sinclair’s ZX Spectrum. I immediately wanted to know more than just loading games, and started learning BASIC. I have ever since had an informal affair with computers; through the years I have built my own computers and learnt to code – I have built a couple of private use web applications, even for company use. I am also proficient in Excel, Access and other general purpose office software as well as ERP’s.I like group sports, in particular basketball and football (soccer). Being 6’8”, I have had the chance to play basketball everywhere I’ve lived, and it has taught me a few important lessons about teamwork. For example, a team is composed of diverse people, each one will have their own skills: tall, fast, shooter... there is a coach to coordinate the efforts towards the common goal, who decides what plays are made and who plays more minutes. But perhaps the most interesting lesson is about delegation: the coach cannot control everything, it is ultimately up to the individual player with the ball to decide whether to pass, dribble or shoot.I would define myself as being analytical, creative and 'respectfully inquisitive' about business processes. I like to keep an open mind and think out of the box. I also have a strong team spirit and good leadership skills.

Leveraging my proven track record, I partner with business owners and CEOs to transform their companies and enhance their profitability by refining strategies, restructuring organizations, and optimizing workflows to drive growth and boost productivity, maximizing efficiency and profitability.During this time, I have developed my own process for improving business operations that involves a two-pronged analysis: a deep dive into internal processes and customer experience to identify inefficiencies, and a financial analysis comparing actual and expected results to pinpoint opportunities for improvement. Based on these findings, I create a detailed route-map for implementing changes, which I then oversee.Acting as an interim C-level (iCFO, iCOO and iGM) or as consultant to the CEO, I have successfully carried out projects in industries such as retail and fashion, telecommunications, industrial-tech, and business services.
