I am an occupational therapist registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I completed my training in occupational therapy at the University of Stellenbosch, before completing my community service year at Shongwe Hospital in Mpumalanga. I then worked as a psychiatric occupational therapist in the public sector at Tambo Memorial Hospital in Johannesburg for a number of years, before gaining experience working with addiction at Rustenburg Addiction Clinic in Somerset West.I aim to provide a safe, caring, and non-judgmental space in which individuals can feel comfortable to work through psychological difficulties and work towards more meaningful relationships with themselves and others. My therapy makes use of DBT and CBT modalities with a functional approach, so that individuals can start the process of becoming aware of how unconscious patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviour affects their present lives. My therapy is client-centered, based on the belief that each person is an expert on their own lives.
