Mohawk Park Tennis Club is a two-court community sports club located in South Mississauga (Cawthra/Queensway area).Within my role as President/Communications Director, I provided executive oversight for various functions within the club, including event organization and management, final approval for club initiatives and community outreach.My responsibilities included leading a team of board members in monthly/special meetings as needed; ensuring that the club is compliant with city policies and procedures; supporting writing of a successful Ontario Trillium Foundation grant (court upgrades/new facilities) that was awarded in 2020; maintaining a club budget; providing input towards various fundraising initiatives; networking with city officials and local sports groups, and providing input for sports policy changes within the City of Mississauga's Official Sports Master Plan.Due to work commitments, I left the organization in Mar. 2023.

Peel Weekly was a hybrid publication (print/digital) distributed to more than 100,000 readers in Peel Region at its peak. Within my role as Editor/Digital Manager, I developed/distributed a 24-page weekly digital edition of a print publication through QuarkXpress, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Creative Cloud. This led to circulation growing from an initial 3,000 direct email subscribers to a combined 20,000+ readers through email distribution (10,000+) and social media marketing within two yearsI co-created an enriched content delivery framework through the Pagesuite Professional publication delivery system, utilizing popout stories and interactive ads that allow readers to have greater interactivity with the publication on tablet and mobile devices. The paper later expanded its platform presence by building a mobile app to deliver news through additional channels and devices. These efforts led to greater visibility for the digital publication and increased circulation and word-of-mouth.I covered news, lifestyle and business stories through Peel Region (Mississuaga, Brampton, Caledon), averaging five events attended per week. I also wrote an average of 20-30 articles written per week, including feature stories, business columns and entertainment stories written under tight deadlines.

From October 2015 to January 2016, I worked as a seasonal Product Process Specialist with Best Buy's Oakville (Winston Park) location.I handled a variety of tasks related to product processing, including upstocking/downstocking, moving pallets by hand and manual pallet jacks, organizing warehouse stock, generating labels and unloading trucks from ground level. I gained a greater understanding and familiarity with internal warehouse systems, operated a electric motorized lift to upstock heavy products in a safe manner, and worked at elevated heights of up to 35 feet.

As the editor for a group of six monthly/bi-monthly community newspapers located in the Mississauga and Etobicoke areas, I handled all content and edited all copy that was included in each edition of the various publications. My work was distributed to more than 125,000 homes and businesses, through Evening Out Magazine, Port Credit Village Times, Lakeshore Villages, Kingsway Korners, Streetsville Village Times and Clarkson's Corners. I also handled editing duties for five business directories distributed throughout Mississauga and Etobicoke. I wrote more than 100 community-oriented news stories and features during my time with the company, and formed professional relationships with various media outlets, businesses and companies across the Greater Toronto Area.

From 2006 to 2009, I served multiple roles within the company, both as a contract worker and freelance writer.I wrote more than 125 stories, which were published in the Mississauga News (online/print), Booster and Business Times publications, as well as several specialty magazines and supplements under the company banner. I also received the Sun's Best Feature Story recognition award in 2009 for my work on a November 2008 feature on the Walt Disney film Bolt, and a profile interview with voice actors Mark Walton (Home On The Range, Tarzan) and Susie Essman (Curb Your Enthusiasm).I also formed professional contacts with representatives across the Oakville/Toronto area, including Walt Disney Motion Pictures Canada, CTVglobemedia, Wind-Up Records and FLIP Publicity.My work with the Sheridan Sun included layout duties for its print and online editions. I created effective layouts using Adobe Dreamweaver, InDesign and Photoshop under strict deadlines.
