A Central Valley native, born in Modesto, CA to a survivor of the Lebanese Civil War. Since childhood, I have desired to serve the institution that both defended my mother and provided her a second chance at life. After graduating from Ripon High School, I studied Political Science and History at UC Santa Barbara and the University of Manchester. Upon earning a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a Minor in History, I decided to join the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Upon completion of Officer Candidate School, The Basic School, and the Logistics Officer Course, I was assigned to Headquarters Company, 5th Battalion, 14th Marines as its Maintenance Management Officer, Battalion Motor Transportation Officer and Platoon Commander. I have also completed a yearlong active duty tour in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina serving as a Logistics Operations Officer.In my civilian career, I intend to enhance my knowledge as a political scientist, studying the dynamics of failed state politics, authoritarianism, democratization, refugee migration, civil war, human rights, and ethnic conflict. My sincerest aspirations rest in combining my training, both military and civilian, to prevent the reoccurrence of foreign policy catastrophes. From my point of view, the Marines of Beirut deserved better than what they received. I look forward to connecting with passionate, like-minded individuals!
