I am a native Icelander fluent in French, English, and Icelandic. Growing up with my parents' international lifestyle, I have had the privilege of immersing myself in various cultures and countries, which fueled my passion for continuous learning and adaptability. During my time in France, I achieved exceptional academic success, skipping a grade, enabling me to complete my Baccalauréat in French ahead of schedule. Seeking to further enhance my Icelandic language proficiency and strengthen my connections in Iceland, I embarked on a three-year journey to obtain the full Icelandic Baccalauréat, achieving an outstanding average grade of over 18/20. In September 2023 I will start in Software engineering in EPFL, Switzerland.Programming Journey:While pursuing my studies in Iceland, I discovered my passion for programming. Equipped with a basic foundation from some online studies and a thirst for knowledge, I embarked on intensive Full Stack programming studies at Boccal Academy, a French programming school focused on teaching adults. This experience provided me with valuable expertise in React, React Native, Node.js and MongoDB and opened the door to join the SimplyBook.me development team.Professional Experience:I was employed for one year at SimplyBook.me as a fullstack programmer. In this dynamic role, I took on diverse responsibilities, including code refactoring, overhauling the entire onboarding process, optimizing various internal functions, and integrating AI into the onboarding process. One of my notable accomplishments includes the creation of an AI-powered assistance bot for the support staff. This bot offers users an extensive help system, providing relevant links, video tutorials, and customized written instructions tailored to their specific queries. Throughout my professional journey, I have worked with a range of tools, including PHP, React, Symfony, JavaScript, Marionette, Zend, and MySQL. Additionally, my work with AI led me to explore cutting-edge technologies like vector databases such as Pinecone and Firebase for developing innovative solutions.
