This research is based at the Cyclotron Institute at Texas A&M University, where I am aiding a graduate student in the construction of a Microwave Camera to explore the behaviors of ECR Ion sources by continuing work from the summer. I am assisting the graduate student with the system configuration and logging files, interfacing with electrical components aspect, and board manufacturing for those components while conducting research. A side project requires the manufacture of a muon detector.

Over the course of this Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) I had the opportunity to learn about and use Machine Learning. My specific project was using a Deep Neural Network (DNN) to track vehicles driving at intersections or along a highway. I would then use the tracking data, along with corrected videos that I received from my partner, to train a more effective model for future work. I was able to train a model with much higher effectiveness than the ones provided to me when I started the REU.
