I'm passionate about marketing and storytelling. I have a diverse background in communications and marketing, beginning with a formal education in print journalism and advertising, and professionally as an editor, copywriter, graphic designer, and marketing and communications manager. In April 2018, I madethe leap from a full-time employee at a firm to an independent contractor. Working for myself has allowed me to use my skills as a creative marketer to collaborate with all kinds of different organizations. I'm currently working as a consultant in the areas of content creation, graphic design, copywriting and editing, digital media management, and brand development.

KC Live Arts (also known as the Performing Arts Marketing Group) is composed of several performing arts organizations in the Greater Kansas City area. The purpose is to better promote the performing arts and diverse live arts events by serving as a one-stop access point for audiences and patrons. As the Digital Coordinator, I manage KC Live Arts' social media accounts, moderate website content and send out the bi-weekly digital newsletter.

Oversee all communications and marketing efforts for Frontier Wealth Management, including advertising, public relations, philanthropy, branding, graphic design, content marketing and website content.

At KCMBA, I wrote press releases, articles and marketing material; oversaw all social media accounts; managed content for the association website; compiled a weekly e-newsletter correspondence with members; and served as the staff photographer and graphic designer. In addition, I was the art director and copy chief for KCMBA’s monthly magazine, KC Counselor.

I wrote profiles and features articles for K-Stater magazine, the award-winning quarterly publication for Kansas State University alumni.

At BankNews, I was responsible for the production of three monthly and two bi-monthly state banking association magazines for the company’s contract publishing sector (including editing copy, toning photos, creating all layout and issue maps, as well as some writing). I also wrote features for the in-house national magazine, BankNews; helped with marketing and reported on several financial industry conventions.

I managed yellow- and white-page directory advertising for seven national clients -- including revising and send art and copy to publishers, as well as creating proposals for online advertising.

During my tenure at the Kansas State Collegian, I served as Editor-in-Chief (fall 2007); Edge editor (spring 2008 and fall 2005); senior page designer (2006-2008); news editor (spring 2007); campus editor (spring 2006); and general reporter. Managed a staff of student editors and reporters; planned daily content and layout; and edited articles for the daily, student-run newspaper, which had a circulation of 9,000.
