Alex is a technically skilled professional who pursues practical applications for BIM within the construction industry with proven involvement in the design and delivery of high value schemes throughout all stages of construction and operation. As a passionate advocate for interoperability and openBIM, Alex pursues an inclusive approach to digital implementation which recognises all project members. As a new member to the buildingSMART UK&I committee Alex is lending his time to the building room and has recently passed the buildingSMART UK&I Professional Certification Foundation exam.At Ridge, Alex manages the day to day running of the Digital Engineering (Building Information Management) team, this involves tracking team actions, training and mentoring, liaising with clients, providing project proposals, pushing new initiatives as well as managing his own projects. With a breadth of information management experience, Alex is supporting both clients and contractors to rationalise undeliverable requirements and align to ISO 16739 (IFC). He created Ridge’s information management platform, fully compliant to ISO 19650, it has been built to enable our projects to move away from endless documentation and to a searchable, structured platform. Alex has been a core part of Ridge’s drive to democratise how data can be provided on projects by connecting live information models to the cloud via API to enable the population of data by anyone, regardless of their modelling abilities or software licences.
