I have been watching nature documentaries ever since the Discovery Channel first aired in the mid 1980's. A lifetime of watching nature programs led me to earn a degree in Environmental Studies and I have spent countless hours outdoors finding and identifying flowers, salamanders, birds, and trees.Along the way I have learned several skills on my own and one of them, drafting, helped me land a job at Widmer Engineering Inc. while attending college at California University of Pennsylvania.As an draftsman with no formal training I felt I was in a tenuous position and quickly expanded my skill set to make myself an essential member of the design team. I started out with very simple drafting responsibilities. Now I am continually relied on for the initial research and design of large scale municipal sanitary sewer projects, permit preparation, and inspection duties in the field.My ability to take on a project and acquire new skills to complete it is something I want to apply to environmental consulting. I have developed useful experience in the engineering field and recently became a certified wetland delineator.
