I am a software engineer with over a decade of experience building high-performance, robust data management and processing systems. As a data systems consultant and contractor, I help startups and SMBs build, manage, and maintain their data infrastructure.As an early member of a couple fast-growing startups, I've had to wear a lot of different hats. I've been an individual contributor, a tech lead, the de-facto IT guy, a solutions engineer, an operations engineer, a manager of teams, a manager of managers, and an executive. I bring that breadth of experience to bear in my work with my clients.I hold a Ph.D. in CSE from UC San Diego and a BS in EECS from UC Berkeley. As part of my Ph.D. work at UCSD, my coauthors and I wrote TritonSort, a large-scale sorting (and later MapReduce) system that held at least one world sorting record between 2011 to 2016.
