Was responsible for ensuring that regulated professional associations in Nova Scotia abided by the Labour Mobility Chapter (Chapter 7) of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement. Worked with federal and provincial governments, regulatory bodies in Nova Scotia and other parts of the country, and other stakeholders to make sure that workers who are certified for an occupation in one area of Canada are recognized in the rest of the provinces and territories, and that common inter-provincial and territorial standards are adopted where that is possible and practical. Supported programs that helped Nova Scotian employers and regulated professional associations provide a fair and competitive labour market environment for immigrants. With the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration, coordinated work on the Pan-Canadian Framework for the Assessment and Recognition of Foreign Qualifications. This and other provincial initiatives related to International Qualifications Recognition help immigrants bring their education, skills, and work experience to Nova Scotia. In collaboration with Immigrant Settlement Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS), brought together partners through Multi-stakeholder Work Groups across a large number of regular professions.

Served as Policy Analyst and was then promoted to Program Consultant, within the Employment Nova Scotia division of the Government of Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education. Had the opportunity to support the policy development process and to coordinate the data analytics contribution to the 2020-2023 Employment Nova Scotia funding model, which aimed to drive a 30% increase in the number of unemployed and underemployed Nova Scotians who secured employment via the government funded Nova Scotia Works service providers (and to also improve the diversity of job seekers who secured employment through the province's employment services). Also advised our department on initiatives such as Digital Nova Scotia Works, and advised the Department of Community Services on the funding model for connecting individuals on disability income assistance with employment opportunities.
