Technical lead on a variety of projects at the Florida Departments of Corrections / Law Enforcement: • Department-wide perimeter security modernization (Cisco PIX migration & IDS implementation); performed penetration testing and annual third-party perimeter security audits• Deployed & managed a 28,000 user Certificate-based Public Key Infrastructure, paving the way for secure access to numerous strategic digital initiatives• Executed three major endpoint security initiatives across 15,000 endpoints -- automating vulnerability assessment, patch management, and antivirus remediation• Reduced costs by $39 million with a program to automate the enforcement of the Department's IT Acceptable Use PolicyMember of internal Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT); performed technicalforensics into various security breaches; responsible for enforcement of IT security policy; routinely evaluated security practices

Developed custom software solutions supporting the various needs of many local small-to-medium businesses. Predominantly on-premise Visual Basic software... my deepest fear is that any of this code is still running.This provided a front row seat to a few security incidents that sent me off on a new career arc.
