This included sales & marketing budget, central reservations sales, group sales, school sales and special events activities.I organized key stakeholders in the community to create a destination marketing organization (DMO), that was mandated to increase visitation to the Town of Smithers as a winter destination, increase skier visits to Ski & Ride Smithers and to increase average duration of stay to 3 nights. The DMO increased our regional winter marketing budget by 500%. This budget increase allowed us to create a winter brand “Ski & Stay Smithers BC” collaborating to bring more overall business to Smithers. The DMO then created a unified call to action for the marketing group in the form of a web page and 800 line, offering a great one stop shopping experience where you could book accommodations, skiing, rentals, lessons etc. with one call and one simple payment. This program was developed and managed by myself including operational oversight of the booking agents and sales representative.During my tenure as Director of Sales & Marketing we accomplished the following results;-Consistent growth in visitation with 6000 new skier visits in final year-$300,000 revenue increase -1200 new school visits -600 Central reservations bookings (100%)-Earned media exposure in Powder, Ski Canada and Skier magazines as well as Vancouver Sun and the Globe and Mail.-Mountain set location for Disney's Eight Below (Local economic impact 10M+)-200% increase in marketing budget through sponsorship sales program Show less
