De Advieswinkel ('Advice Store') is an initiative that was conceived by the Nationale DenkTank 2013, a thinktank that aimed to contribute to a high-quality, sustainable healthcare system with innovative ideas. At an Advieswinkel, psychology students give advice to persons with mild mental problems, such as stress, sleeplessness, mild depression or grief. It aims to normalise mental problems, is unique in its accessibility and is free of charge to its visitors.

Each year approximately 20 talented Dutch PhD-students, recent graduates and master students from a variety of academic disciplines are selected to form a think-tank and wrap their minds around a pressing social issue. For a period of three months they work on producing creative, visionary but also practical solutions. The 2013 theme concerned the Dutch healthcare system.
