Alex is Executive Producer of Refuge, a boutique visual effects studio located in Portland, Oregon. Rooted in the craft culture of the city, Refuge specializes in the creation of high-end photorealistic visual effects, digital creature effects, character animation, and character design for feature films, episodic television, and commercial productions. He is a former executive producer with global ad agency, Wieden+Kennedy, overseeing visual effects and finishing initiatives for its postproduction division, Joint Editorial. He also helped develop capabilities for W+K Lodge, the agency’s incubator for technology innovations.Previously, Alex served as visual effects producer for the Academy Award-winning studio Digital Domain, where he worked with teams that pioneered processes for creating digital humans, as well as virtual and in-game engine productions. Alex is a recipient of both a Cannes Lion and VES Award.
