The Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship was established in 1987 to recruit and train the next generation of policy and advocacy leaders on a range of international peace and security issues. The fellowship ensures a pipeline of the brightest, most dedicated, and diverse next-generation experts into leading think tanks and advocacy groups in order to inspire creative new approaches to the pervasive challenges to peace and security. Its goal is to bridge the gap between academia and the professional world by providing an entry point for mission-driven grads eager to learn about and contribute to public-interest organizations. Twice yearly, the fellowship’s Board of Directors selects a small group of outstanding individuals to spend six to nine months in Washington, DC. Scoville Fellows work full time at the participating organization of their choice.

fp21 is an independent, nonpartisan process tank dedicated to transforming the process and institutions of U.S. foreign policy. We seek to restore U.S. leadership and improve the lives of Americans and people around the world by designing pragmatic, actionable recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of U.S. foreign policy. FP21 is building a community of experienced policymakers, social scientists, veterans, technologists, and NGO practitioners. We aim to support a new generation of government officials eager to inject data and rigor into the policy process.

Manager of more than 20 professional staff supporting U.S. engagement in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and advising the congressional leadership of the bicameral and bipartisan Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE).• Managed execution of 22 congressional hearings, 14 briefings, and one international parliamentary seminar in the 116th Congress. • Coordinated three high-level Congressional Delegations to engage in activities of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

Presidential appointee in a new senior role coordinating public affairs, press and congressional engagement for teams under the leadership of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia.• Lead for trip coordination, congressional reports, speechwriting, press, and external engagement planning. • Interim Country Director for Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro in the Office Secretary of Defense (Policy) - Fall 2015/Winter 2016.

Senior professional staff advisor supporting Commissioner activity on a broad spectrum policy priorities, including Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) institutional issues, Near Eastern (Mediterranean) affairs, media freedom, trafficking in persons, labor migration, environmental human rights and inclusion/non-discrimination initiatives.• Staffed bicameral and bipartisan Member engagement and logistics for 20 international Congressional trips as a secretary of the U.S. Delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. • Contributor to seven international election observation missions in Azerbaijan (2010), Albania (2009 & 2013), Tunisia (2011), Turkey (2015) & Ukraine (2010 & 2015).• Coordinated 9 congressional hearings, briefings and a field-hearing.• Presented U.S. Delegation official statements at the 2008 and 2009 OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Meetings (Poland), 2010 OSCE Review Conference (Kazakhstan), & other negotiations.• Facilitated numerous international exchanges of policy experts, elected officials, and civil society.• Contributed to the development and coordination of the 2009 Black European Summit (Brussels), 2010 and 2011 Transatlantic Minority Political Leadership Conferences (Brussels).

Supervised environmental restoration work executed by youth crews of 18 members and coordinated volunteer project events ranging from 20 to 450 participants.
