Managing a team of 18 employees from various countries, cultures, ethnicities, and religious backgrounds opened my eyes to the importance of unity and the power of diversity. Each week, I created and launched purposeful training materials for these and other employees to ensure that each team member had the skills to excel their roles at the MTC; I delivered these materials at a weekly, hour-long training meeting that included up to 80 employees. In this position, I spent many hours recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training 531 applicants and employees.

My main responsibility included the meticulous detailing of selected venues to enhance the overall client experience. Additionally, I established relationships with statewide vendors and venue managers, and played a key role in fulfilling responsibilities on event days, contributing to seamless and joyous celebrations.

Using principles of social impact and design thinking, I worked with a team of interns designing asynchronous curriculum intended to teach members in developing countries correct business principles to put them on the path toward financial self-reliance. As a team, we researched, prototyped, and developed a learning framework while communicating with 7,000+ Academy members from the Philippines, Ghana, and various South American countries to receive real-time feedback on our project.

Spearheading the application of human-centered design principles at this Alaskan fishing lodge, I was able to provide continuous comfort and hospitality to the guests who stayed with us. I ensured a top-tier experience for both current and former guests by orchestrating an efficient service delivery system, overseeing guest interactions around the clock, and fostering creativity and effective teamwork to elevate the overall guest experience. Additionally, I successfully led a team of eight in organizing effective product delivery, including a clever approach to involving everyone in managing the guests’ catch of the week.

I explored efficiency solutions for everyday tasks in addition to producing 12 extensive professional development experiences for 140 colleagues while our teams were isolated during the COVID-19 pandemic. When we were in-person, this position helped me to further develop my public speaking and large-group management skills by instructing rooms of up to 45 volunteers.
