My practice is focused on protecting and enforcing disputed contractual rights and obligations, resolving and avoiding corporate governance and other intra-company disputes, and pursuing and defending other business-related claims like tortious interference, fraud, and theft of trade secrets. I also defend Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) licensees charged with regulatory violations. Teaming with clients to identify key interests and develop and execute strategies to advance and protect those interests is the most rewarding part of my work. I like to see my clients thrive and when a fight is necessary, I like to help my clients win.This practice has provided me the opportunity to help businesses and individuals accomplish their objectives with litigation through to verdict and judgment, including jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations, and contested case administrative hearings, including protecting wins on appeal and enforcing arbitration awards.I previously chaired Tonkon Torp's Cannabis Industry Group and have served on the boards of directors for the Oregon Cannabis Association and the Resource Innovation Institute, as a member of the OLCC's Rules Advisory Committee on enforcement reform, and as a cooperating attorney with ACLU Oregon. Today I focus my volunteer work on improving equity and excellence in our public schools and related efforts to strengthen community connection and resiliency, and I continue to represent underserved individuals pro bono in coordination with Legal Aid Services of Oregon.
