Mechanical Engineer
Current- Modeling the energy deposition in the laser powder bed fusion and directed energy deposition processes using simulation software; utilizing process knowledge to improve additive manufacturing process parameters.- Modeling gas flow for the laser powder bed fusion and directed energy deposition processes using OpenFOAM.- Designing and supporting deposition trials, which involves part design, process parameter optimization, optics alignment and calibration, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.- Performing post-processing on samples, including density testing, optical microscopy, and CT scan analysis.- Developing process control methodologies, related data analytics tools, and related hardware-software interfaces.- Writing technical progress reports, final project reports, technical presentations, and process manuals.- Maintaining positive customer relations by regularly leading progress reviews with project sponsors.- Training new employees and industry partners on simulation software.
