IDEX is very much in an operational start up mode where my responsibilities as Senior Director of Supply Chain have been to establish successful partnerships and commercial agreements with key suppliers and manufacturers of IDEX finger print sensors. Working with IDEX R&D teams in USA and Norway, I have driven new product introduction activities with our manufacturing partners, including sample builds, qualification batches and established mass production capabilities to service anticipated revenue growth within mobile and card customers. I have also been responsible for defining and implementing required processes, systems and tools to ramp up the business including deployment of a PLM document control system and providing Supply Chain inputs for selection of most appropriate ERP at IDEX

Manage $100M Partner Product portfolio ranging from site installation material to complex switching and routing equipment sold in tandem with Aviat’s Microwave Radio and Networking products. Direct a team of Product Managers to manage and forecast margin and revenue expectations to drive P&L health of the portfolio. Identify partner product extension opportunities and introduce new products to drive revenue growth. Negotiate contracts and pricelists, while maintaining documentation within Aviat Sales Operations systems to enable field sales to promote, quote and sell partner products.

Through a consolidation of job functions expanded scope of responsibilities to include Strategic Sourcing, Manufacturing Engineering, and NPI Program Management. Led more than 50 employees across these functions at multiple sites. Directed the Contract Manufacturing (CM) strategy implemented to service all of the Aviat products. Maintained manufacturability at multiple CM sites in Asia and the US. Managed the introduction of all New Products and Product transitions to CM’s. Worked closely with engineering on the implementation of assembly and test processes, product documentation release, performance validation and issue management.Directed the integration of the Telsima Wimax base station and CPE technology product acquisition into the existing product portfolio. Utilized established CMs and supply base to integrate the product line within 12 months. Leveraged Telsima’s relationship with tier 1 CM as a catalyst to initiate an RFQ program, achieving significant cost savings after realigning product portfolio to the selected CM.

Established a team of Commodity Managers within the Global Supply Chain organization of the newly merged Harris MCD and Stratex Networks to create and manage commodity strategies within the consolidated product lines of HSTX. Drove commodity plans, challenges, opportunities and initiatives with cross functional groups such as Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality and NPI. Managed Supply Operations teams creating a close working relationship with the sourcing team to ensure that any changes to supply chain portfolio were executed without disruption. Achieved $28M in cost savings in the first fiscal year for HSTX.

Following the success of the initial launch of the Eclipse platform, tapped to lead a team of 5 product managers tasked with improving the P&L performance of the product line. Team supported products throughout all product life cycle stages, including product pricing and margin approval, product forecasts, product availability and new product requirements. Led a company-wide improvement program to unify commitment to the common goal of customer satisfaction. The “Delight” program focused on end to end improvements from order qualification to installation and field support. Key contributor on Stratex/Harris merger integration team as the Operations lead for Stratex. Collaborated on review of processes, tools, manufacturing and supply chain strategies, and the design of the integration plan accepted for implementation upon approval of merger. Led a 3rd party review of both company’s supplier contracts and pricing. Identified savings of $35M in supply chain synergies that could be realized within 18 months of operations as HSTX.

Promoted to lead a small team of Program Managers. Drove strategic cross-functional alignment initiative to enhance the effectiveness and consistency in the product development process. Collaborated across functions to design a phase-gate model New Product Development (NPD) process and drive company-wide adoption. Executed the NPD process with the development of the Eclipse platform, a revolutionary concept which would become the company’s most successful product. Today this product line accounts for $5.5B in revenue. Managed the Eclipse platform development process from concept to production in 18 months, leveraging global resources in the US, UK, New Zealand and Thailand.

I moved to Program Management reporting to the VP of Engineering. Programs that I led included “Spectrum Integrated XCVR” and the “Altium Product” These programs involved managing activity within a cross functional team to successfully develop, on time, our products and supplier solutions. I was involved in “Operation Tidal Wave” an emergency program set up to improve our capability to ship the Spectrum product to meet our increasing customer demand. This involved establishing a set of product dashboards and Pareto analysis to identify the product deficiencies and then introduce the appropriate design, test and process improvements to achieve required success. I was a key contributor in the creation and implementation of the Continual Improvement Process (CIT). This involved implementing a process and culture across all functions of the company to quickly address factory and field issues in an organized fashion. I led the 1st CIT Team to address our Altium product. This process and discipline has remained with us and is still applied to todays products

Key contributor to the creation and implementation of Continual Improvement Process (CIP), a company-wide initiative influencing both methodology and culture in the response to addressing factory and field issues. This approach continues to be a company standard today.

Hired as a Test Engineer and introduced ATE, ICT and manual test solutions for microwave radio and multiplexer products. When production was halted at this facility, joined the Product Approvals group taking responsibility for ensuring products met various regulatory standards. Established test programs and provided compliant product and data for review by regulatory bodies. Managed extensive on-site test programs to validate products met customer performance specs and functional requirements.
