I am a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney. I joined Bailey Walsh & Co. in 1998 and became a partner, and part owner of the Firm, in 2005. I hold a BA in Natural Sciences and a PhD in Medical Physiology & Biochemical Pathways, both from Cambridge University. Although my academic background was largely in the field of biotechnology and life sciences, I have acquired an extensive skill set and experience in a much wider range of scientific disciplines during my professional career at Bailey Walsh & Co., including biochemistry, chemistry, physiology, pharmacology, pathology, genetics, microbiology and cell biology, electrical and mechanical engineering, as well as telecommunications. I advise predominantly on patent, design and copyright issues.I represent clients at Opposition proceedings at the European Patent Office and at the UK Intellectual Property Office (UK IPO). I also work closely with lawyers in the UK and abroad in both the enforcement and defence of our client’s patent rights.
