This is storytelling at its best! I provide fun, dynamic and informative walking tours of the Vancouver area, particularly that of Chinatown. We're one of the only local, grass roots companies that provide free public walking tours in the city that show both locals and tourists a quirky (sometimes random) side to Vancouver they never knew existed!

West Vancouver

My role here comprises of a range of responsibilities. As a youth worker, I supervise the Youth Lounge, a safe and interactive space or adolescents to connect with their peers, as well as planning and implementing youth leadership and capacity building programs. As part of the Volunteer Services team, I design and facilitate youth and adult volunteer training workshops and coordinate volunteers in specific programs and special events. Child and Family Services is my other area of expertise. I plan and implement grant-funded after-school programs and themed daycamp programs for school-aged children. My role within West Vancouver Community Services allows me to work with a diverse demographic, including those with cognitive and physical disabilities as well as those learning English as a second language.

As Assistant Coordinator, I provide executive support in volunteer engagement within the District of West Vancouver. My role consists of managing Better Impact, our vast online database of volunteer information and scheduling, troubleshooting with staff and volunteers on how to navigate the online system, and designing and implementing high-quality leadership training modules for new volunteers.As a team, we also track volunteers' personal development with follow-up meetings to provide feedback, and organize volunteer socials and recognition events.

Through my work as an independent filmmaker, I’ve discovered my passion lies in sharing people’s stories and building connection through those shared experiences. With that comes the value I place on creating meaningful and authentic relationships with others. My projects have been centered around the impact of cancer on young adults, focusing on the emotional journey that follows treatment. As an advocate for this community, I am actively involved in cancer support networks and have lectured and spoken in various capacities, including fundraising events, young adult cancer retreats, university workshops and a national conference for healthcare professionals.My first documentary is specificially about young adults and how their sexuality is affected by cancer. My most recent project was a collaboration with the Callanish Society on a documentary project about young adults living with recurrent cancer.

As Chair of Survivor Development, I was in charge of putting together a celebration of participating cancer survivors that was both unique and memorable. My responsibilities consisted of mobilizing personal and professional networks to recruit participating survivors and Relay teams, securing food and gift donations, securing guest speakers, coordinating logistics for the Survivors’ Ceremony, and building rapport with new and returning survivors.

My main experience here was working with preschool and school-aged children, and I specialized in planning and implementing various programs including high energy birthday parties, soccer skills workshops, child-minding programs, babysitting training courses and basic CPR training, as well as summer daycamps.
