Ward 1 Studios was founded in 2016 by myself and a group of visual media artists who frequented a media arts centre in Guelph’s Ward 1. The seeds of collaboration were sowed and Ward 1 Studios was born. In 2017, we incorporated and moved to a second floor studio space in Downtown Guelph. By 2020, the studio has had over 30 artists collaborate on various projects across the country and is continuing to foster the ideas of collaboration, creativity and crafting stories to inspire. From the beginning, we’ve said that story comes first. We wrote it on the wall to remind us that without story the magic is lost. Through it all, the flag we fly is still the same: Craft stories. Evoke emotion. Drive change.I completed my studies at Sheridan College with a focus on documentary filmmaking. Prior to attending post-secondary, I received over $75,000 in scholarships including the TD Scholarship for Community Leadership. My passions in documentary filmmaking have crossed over with my love of the sports entertainment industry. Ward 1 Studios has worked with sports teams in the Ontario Hockey League, Canadian Elite Basketball League and National Lacrosse League to program in game entertainment and digital media content. Our sports series have been featured on CBC Gem, TSN.ca and in 2021 my full length documentary "Our Game" was broadcast nationally on CBC Television. Today, I lead a creative team of animators, editors, writers and filmmakers in multiple creative focuses. Our studio produces content for marketing, advertising, narrative, documentary and much more.
