During my time at Medical Solutions, I've led a backend engineering team in developing two products from the proof of concept phase through to production deployment and post-launch support.As the Lead Engineer, I am responsible for my own individual contributions to the codebase in addition to managing the work of my direct reports, interfacing with our Product Manager and the wider organization, as well as with various stakeholders for each project.Our team was one of the very first teams to use Test Driven Development for our backend work. The Loyalty Platform we finished last year had 700+ tests before it was considered complete. We aim to reach a similar magnitude of tests for our current project WageWise.We currently use Node.js and NestJS for our APIs, SQLServer and Postgres for our relational database needs, and various automated testing infrastructures depending on the project. The entire company deploys via Azure DevOps. Most of our applications are hosted in Docker containers for both testing and deployment.

During my time at ZHealth my primary responsibility was taking a fairly old legacy Electron Desktop application and create a shell that launched it as a traditional web application hosted on Azure.

From the first conversations around what a DM subscription service could be to production launch I've been with and loved every step of Subfund's development. With a 2 person team we've built a service that rivals the big competitors (Patreon, SubscribeStar etc). I did the lions share of the frontend development work and 100% of the backend work. From integrating with several different social media platforms to creating tools to help us do customer service more efficiently I've been there for it all and I'm incredibly proud of the platform.For those interested:FE is a React app (16.x) with some Bootstrap mixed in as neededBackend is mostly NodeJS with the heavier background processing written in the always reliable Sidekiq/Ruby combo.

Some of the things I am responsible for at Chirpify or just things I'm proud of1) All front-end builds/components for our platform. Over the course of 6 weeks, rewrote the largest feature of the front-end, updating it to use React. Feature has lived without any significant or regressions for over a year.2) Responsible for almost all deploys over a 15+ GitHub repo stack of projects.3) Was hired as a front-end engineer but after 6 months become a full stack engineer, well versed in all areas of the platform.4) Proficient in writing scale-able asynchronously processed jobs (using Sidekiq)
