I am currently building the 4-H Military Partnerships front-end, cms, and api server. The technologies I use are Typescript, React, Node, Express, and Mongoose. My responsibilities include the following• Interacting with the client on a weekly basis to understand any new requirements they have for the website• Updating the client on the status of the website• Designing both the user-facing and admin-facing front-ends• Programming both front-ends and the back-end api• Setting up a Digital Ocean droplet to host the server• Setting up deployment strategies through Dokku• Implementing Code Coverage and linting requirements pre-push• Securing the api routes for admin-only access

As a full stack developer, I work in Angular 7 and PHP to improve the performance of a large existing application. Over time, our team has worked on upgrading the application from AngularJS to Angular 7. Some of my main take ways are listed below• It is extremely important to write easy to understand, clean, and well-documented code. Much of the existing codebase is horribly ugly and buggy, and I am proud of the work I have put into making the codebase much more developer and end-user friendly• You have to think about the future. The previous developer did not consider what would happen when there were 2000 rows in the database instead of 20. As such, I have worked very hard on making much more efficient API and database calls.• The people at your job are an important part of enjoying your work. The office I work at is incredible. The environment is friendly and encouraging. They do, however, expect the developers to get the work done that is assigned to them. All of these contribute to a productive and encouraging work environment.
