ABC Group Tech Center, Toronto

• ABC Group is a Tier 1 supplier of plastic components to OEMs. I worked between the R&D group and project engineering to develop testing equipment to validate new products. My activities included:
• Developed and upgraded high temperature test stands for testing automotive coolant surge tanks in support of on-going product development testing
• Coordinated with vendors for the purchase of valves, sensors, controls and performed vendor bid analyses on major purchases
• Upgraded testing equipment with new control logic to improve efficiency and accuracy of testing
• Wrote piping, programming and electrical scope of work for vendors to bid on new turbo duct test module
• Worked with Computer Assisted Engineering team using Computational Fluid Dynamics to prototype changes to existing process piping

Cold Lake, Alberta

• Worked with operation technical experts and facility engineers at the Mahihkan Plant in the Cold Lake district operations. Cold Lake district produces 160 kbpd of bitumen using cyclic steam separation. Activities.
• Work with Facility Engineers to debottleneck, troubleshoot repairs, and upgrade process equipment and piping
• Assist operations to ensure efficient operation of steam generators, heavy oil and gas processing tanks and vessels
• Produce P&IDs and isometric drawings of piping
• Perform engineering calculations for equipment additions on tanks, piping and pressure vessels
• Create live PFDs to trend performance and identify inefficiencies in process operation

Sudbury, Ontario

• Returned to Golder Associates but to the Sudbury office. In addition to previous activities additional responsibilities included:
• Modeled 3D models of conveyors, pumps, tanks, compressors and thickeners based on supplied vendor drawings for 3D model of processing plant
• Performed engineering calculations for custom piping components based on applicable ASME codes
• Drafted detailed mechanical drawings for custom slurry piping components based
• Using Plant 3D modelling routed process piping including water, air, vacuum, and slurry services.
• Extensive use of AutoCAD Plant 3D Design Suite for use in 3D modelling, 3D piping layouts, isometric, P&ID and detailed engineering drawings

Missisauga, Ontario

• Golder Associates Paste Engineering and Design provided consulting services for paste backfill, tailing de-watering, process upgrades. Clients included Randgold Resources and Aurico Gold. Responsibilities include:
• Extensive use of AutoCAD Plant 3D Design suite to create optimum equipment layouts including hi-rate thickeners, pumps, vacuum filters, conveyors, compressors and auxillary supporting equipment
• Setup piping specifications for Plant 3D based on local piping codes
• Drafted detailed mechanical drawings for tanks, piping supports and general arrangement drawings
• Created bill of material take-offs for underground paste distribution piping

Concord, Ontario

• Multimatic Manufacturing manufactured stamped and welded hinge assemblies. Activities and responsibilities included:
• Performed in process testing for a wide range of automotive hinging systems in a testing lab facility to ensure that outgoing product meets customer specification
• Completed performance life cycle testing, corrosion testing, operating effort tests, strength tests
• Activities included and creating new testing fixtures and design validation for new product launches
