When reviewing performance of technicians, it was my responsibility to focus on the communication aspect. Ensure everyone was communicating regularly, on time, and at crucial points in a ticket’s progress. When common consecutive errors are made, I identify patterns and look for factors that contributed to the cause of that error. Once the problem is identified and isolated, a solution is put together that will minimize, if not eliminate, the possibility of these errors occurring in the future.

As part of San Diego Computer Help’s top rated IT Professionals, I was responsible for configuring and maintaining a variety of small business and corporate networks. I was required to have a practicing knowledge of TCP/IP, Subnetting, firewall configuration, routing, managing DNS entries, UTM router configuration, and wireless networking. Other service setups included Site-To-Site VPNs, VoIP phone configuration, and secure remote managemen. I would design and implement commercial network setups. Installations were performed along with cabling when necessary, routing, Access Point configuration and limited “ground-up” server configuration. I help set up domains, both internal local domains and web domains complete with MX records for certain email situations. This position required the use of a ticket system to organize service requests, appointments, projects, tasks and billing. While all network services were running smooth, smaller tasks were undertaken in the office which included troubleshooting desktop computers, Laptops and mobile devices. I also performed windows password resets, Imaging, OS installs, virus cleans, full backups of user data and replaced any faulty computer components. Essentially everything necessary to keep clients’ computers functioning smoothly. I needed to be able to diagnose issues using a variety of techniques in order to identify and correct the problem, then quickly execute the proper course of action all while taking detailed notes throughout the whole process.

At Green World Electronics Ltd. Alex was responsible for configuring and maintaining a FTP, DHCP, Samba, and PXE Boot server on CentOS Linux. This required that he make adequate use of the knowledge he had in network configurations and ip tables in order to get the job done quickly and efficiently while at the same time configuring the network correctly without any problems. While the servers were working, Alex also had the responsibility of repairing laptop, desktop, and server computers which required that he be able to work fast and still pay careful attention to detail. He needed to be able to diagnose beep codes and error messages in order to plan a proper repair and figure if it would be worth the company’s time to proceed with the planned repair. Repairs ranged from soldering antique circuit boards back to health, replacing computer components, all the way to OS reconfiguration.
