For the AT&T Law & Government Affairs organization - created the strategy and built the organization for one of the industry's first internal technology organizations that were dedicated to supporting the corporation’s litigation, Merger & Acquisition and Regulatory & Antitrust initiatives. In this role I was responsible for managing all EDD, computer forensics and the provisioning of all document management, imaging and conversion services as well as general electronic document repositories. Extensive experience supporting M&A activities, including negotiating with the Department of Justice regarding the parameters of EDD in connection with Second Requests and Civil Investigative Demands. Responsible for vendor negotiations and the management of outsourcing arrangements for all IT related services in support of the above mentioned functional responsibilities.The success of the operation established Alex as a pioneer in the use of technology to improve the practice of law and positioned AT&T as an early adopter of methods and procedures of what in the coming years became the required method of operation.
