Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to connect with me on LinkedIn. Currently I am wrapping up my time & degree as a first generation, Business Psychology student, at UC San Diego with interests in both IO Psychology and mental health focused on various research topics (social psych, productivity, and personality disorders). As the second graduating class with a Business Psychology degree and double minor in biology and entrepreneurship I am hoping to create meaningful and impactful change through my future career. So far the most impactful research that I have participated in was at MiraCosta college. We focused on students' instagram filters that they were using to see if color and social media filters were related to their mental health status. Depression was the specific emotion of interest for this research study. This gave me hands on research experience from start to finish and taught me valuable lessons in IRB proposals. Because I was working in a team, I was able to strengthen both my communication and leadership skills and came to realize that research is a passion of mine.In my free time I enjoy working with children who struggle with mood dysregulation disorders/ children who are on the spectrum at Encinitas Day Elementary. This provided insight into the world of special needs schooling and how beneficial and rewarding it is to work alongside these remarkable children. Not only did I gain psychiatric training around children with certain disorders, but I also learned skills in how to help integrate high functioning children on the spectrum into traditional classroom settings in a way that promotes learning and helps the children foster new relationships and positive experiences. In a recent RA positions at UCSD I have had the pleasure of working on various research projects such as managing lab operations and teams in the Nasa Twin study over at the UCSD Medical campus in Dr. Rana's lab, conducting experiments in the Rady Management lab on empathy in the workforce, and UCSD's eating disorder research center participating in various data entry and clinical research.
