ZAIN-Group (MTC before branding) February 2003 – September 2011Joined Zain on Feb. 2003 and assumed several key executive roles across the group and contributed effectively to its successful growth story from a USD 1.0B market value to USD 32.0B in 6 years.Advisor to the Board of Directors and the CEO of Zain KSA April 2010 – September 2011Rejoined Zain KSA as a sr. consultant advising the board of directors and CEO, leading the turnaround exercise after the negative performance of 2009 due to lack of strategic execution.Achievements:• Successfully completed the turnaround and adjustment of the company strategies in 9 months.• Managed to recover Zain KSA from the gap of the first quarter of 2010 and helped the co. close 2010 with 5% to 10% above budget across all KPI (revenue, market share, EBITDA, and EBIT).

Chief Business Transformation Officer – Zain Group January 2009 – March 2010After leading the startup project of Zain KSA as a COO, and the successful launch of the newly modeled Zain KSA, was assigned the role of Chief Business Transformation Officer "CBTO" at the group level of Zain. This is a pioneering new position ever in any mobile operator within the industry. Achievements:• Successfully turnaround Zain’s largest operator “Zain Nigeria” in 7 months.• Planned and kick started the turnaround exercise for Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Jordan and Iraq.• Completed the build of the new startup “Ghana” modeled after the new operational model of Zain.

Chief Operating Officer – Zain KSA April 2007 – December 2008On April 2007 joined Zain group as a COO immediately after they have been awarded the license to build and operate the third mobile operator in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Achievements:• Zain KSA was launched successfully on target date August 2008• Many reputable business analysts within the industry consider Zain KSA as the best and most successful 3rd entrant mobile operator ever in the world with more than 18% market share in less than 20 months.• Zain KSA was built to operate with more than 70% of its business functions outsourced to strategic partners. The first model ever in the industry, running with less than 500 employees compared to 22,000 employees for the incumbent. • Zain KSA was the first in the telecommunication industry to launch successfully a new Supply Chain operational model modeled after the FMCG industry.

Chief Operating Officer (COO) – MTC Vodafone Bahrain June 2003 – March 2005Assumed the role of the COO in charge of MTC-Bahrain startup to build and operate the third 3G licensed operator in the world and the first in the ME. It was also the first green field operator for MTC group. After the successful launch, took role of operating the company for a year as an acting CEO.Achievements:• Successful launch on time (less than 6 months from license award date to commercial launch)• A successful first year of operation with 25% higher market share, and 50% above target EBITDA.• Improved the business plan projected IRR from 7% to 24%.
