I am currently a EO (Executive Officer) Decision Maker. Within my role I take part in many forms of complex decision in regards to habitual residence and immigration law, in relation to benefit entitlement.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, a friend of mine recommended me for an Administrative Officer (AO) position working on Universal Credit at a local Job Centre Plus. I worked within a close team that was responsible for progressing claimants from a new claim to being ready to get their first payment. Using both oral and written communication, my main role was to verify claimants housing costs by verifying document, verifying claimants identities during biographical appointments and being the SPOC (single point of contact) for booking ‘First Commitment’ appointments. Due to frequently discussing housing costs with clinically vulnerable claimants, I would often interact with homeless people. Although conversations were often tough, I would use my empathetic nature to ease the claimant through the line of questioning. This line of questioning was to fill out a referral form, which I eventually became the SPOC for completing / referring claimants. As my fixed-term position was nearing its end, I eventually left this position to seek job security and begin to clime the Civil Service.

I initially was employed as a 'Christmas Temp', but continued to work throughout the year for Boots after impressing the management staff during my temporary role. Whilst working at Boots I worked across multiple stores, within the warehouse, shop floor and on the tills, and was always able to adjust quickly to the new environments.

I spent the summer working on behalf of Rebel Enterprise, as a Telesales Agent for the last 2 months of the PPI deadline. Due to how fast the company evolved from when I originally joined, I covered many job roles during my time at Rebel Enterprise including; Telesales Agent, Customer Service as well as some more administrative roles, gaining skills in sales, customer service and staff training.
