Alfonso Chang is a healthcare executive with experience as a strategist, investor, and operator.As a strategist, Alfonso focuses on advising companies on financial and strategic topics, including corporate finance, marketing, product development, and strategic planning. For over twenty years, he has provided counsel to leading global companies, and he has worked with products at various stages of development and sizes. He specializes on the evaluation of complex situations, identifying the relevant issues & decision criteria, developing & conducting the appropriate analytical framework, and formulating executable recommendations for clients.As an investor, Alfonso evaluates healthcare companies to identify investment opportunities that will yield appropriate value creation with acceptable risk profiles. He leverages his broad and deep experiences to conduct diligence across various healthcare subsectors, including biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, services, and technology. He has negotiated investment terms, provided strategic guidance to portfolio companies, and managed investments. Currently, he serves as a Managing Director of Relativity Healthcare Partners (“RHCP”), a group dedicated to providing growth capital to healthcare companies. Examples of investments by RHCP affiliated funds include Arbor Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Azurity Pharmaceuticals), BioAnalytix (acquired by Protagen Protein Services, now ProtaGene), Conversa Healthcare (acquired by Amwell–NYSE:AMWL), and Cureus (acquired by Springer Nature). As an operator, Alfonso develops business plans with competitive strategies and executes activities in an efficient and effective manner to achieve corporate goals. He has built teams and managed resources, including human and capital. Most recently, Alfonso served as the CEO of Parsolex GMP Center (“Parsolex”), a Center of Excellence in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, providing analytical, development, manufacturing, and strategic solutions to companies. Also, Alfonso has experience serving on boards, providing strategic direction for organizations and overseeing management of for-profit and non-profit entities. Currently, he serves as the Vice Chair of the CUNY School of Public Health Foundation. Formerly, he served as a member of the Board of Directors of BioAnalytix and Parsolex. He was a board observer for Conversa Health.In the past, Alfonso has been invited to speak, facilitate, and judge at different venues. He has given lectures at University of Michigan, Purdue University,Columbia University, and St. John's University.
