Alfonso López Velarde is Co-Founder and Head of Architecture at ITERATIVA currently the real estate development and operating company is overseeing the construction of some mixed-use and hospitality projects in Mexico City. Prior to establishing his own practice, he was project leader at Project A01 Architects in Vienna and for artist Tobias Rehberger in Frankfurt.Alfonso graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at Universidad Iberoamericana Campus Mexico City (2007), before undertaking a Master in Architecture and Performative Design at the renowned Städelschule Architecture Class in Frankfurt (2012), led by its dean Ben van Berkel. In addition to his professional experience, Alfonso is an advisory board member of CRITICAL PRACTICES INC. in New York City and the editor of BLANK SLATE (2014; issue No. Zero), an exhibition-and-critical-space-in-print for contemporary art and architecture.
