As the Business Development Intern in Electronic Category, I was given several core tasks to support the overall process of merchant acquisition, activation, and incubation process. These tasks include:1. Product Uploading/ListingAfter a merchant had agreed to become a core member of Akulaku’s E-commerce ecosystem, Business Development Intern provides support for the new merchant account activation by migrating the merchant’s product listing from another Marketplace to Akulaku’s vendor management system. This product listing process is conducted by taking into account the merchant's request and the conditions given by our senior which include price markup, specification of product type, and shipping details.2. Potential Lead ResearchTo ensure the team's performance in merchant acquisition, Business Development Intern is given the responsibility to generate a list of potential leads which consist of merchants who specialize in establishing online stores based on electronic products. This was done by searching for merchants in competing marketplaces and profiling the merchant store to assess whether the merchant fulfilled is deemed fit in the electronic category.3. Merchant Contacts ListingAssist Business Development Team by finding contacts from targeted merchants that had been listed to enable merchant approach as the first step in the merchant acquisition process.
