I am an organized, dedicated, professional problem-solver eager to progress in my career. My goal is to use my knowledge, experience and skills to better improve my community and societyI have always been passionate on utilizing critical thinking in understanding and solving problems. I applied this passion by attaining a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, while minoring in physics and biology emphasizing a solid foundation in biochemistry, microbiology, human anatomy and physiology, and nanotechnology. I further dedicated myself to sharpening my problem-solving skills by conducting summer research each year gaining valuable experience in how to approach challenges in various scientific topics ranging from chemical characterization and analysis to synthesis and application of novel materials. I have two publications in scientific literature from these experiences. One involves the use of electrochemistry to study the efficacy of blood protein detection and another involves polymer synthesis and modification to create innovative carriers of drugs and MRI contrast agents. While I was a graduate student, I honed my skills in communicating by tutoring general chemistry laboratory, and by serving as Laboratory Instructor for American Chemical Society short courses demonstrating to company representatives applications of epoxy resins and crosslinking. I further applied my research skills by attaining a Masters in drug delivery utilizing polymers as well as understanding the methods of analyzing and characterizing novel polymers. My thesis involved synthesizing a biocompatible copolymer that was further functionalized with phosphonate.I believe that my interdisciplinary experiences, my personal skills and my passion to learn will be greatly beneficial to any group looking for a dedicated worker.
