Devices include 6509, 6506, 3750G, 3800 series routers, ASA firewalls, and nexus 1000v • Played key role in leading the network team in upgrading the legacy NASA JSC mission networks and implementing a highly robust, stable, and efficient Switched Gigabit Ethernet network that has supported multiple missions without any critical issues• Evaluated, procured, and tested over $5M worth of networking equipment for the JSC network upgrade project. Multicast data delivery protocols (PIM-SM, IGMP) were tuned to meet NASA’s strict 60 second data failover requirements. • Delivered another Backup Command and Control Center (hot-site) in Huntsville, Alabama on schedule. Station Operations successfully transitioned to this new backup center when Hurricane Ike struck the Houston area• Served as an integral technical team member delivering internet access to the International Space Station while still adhering to strict security requirements• Provided technical expertise in the testing and troubleshooting of the new Front End Processing network that serves as the data delivery vehicle for Station and Shuttle core telemetry and command data
