• Continued to perform project management duties, strategic planning, oversight, and execution of DCPDS network and security related initiatives in accordance with DoD and DMDC requirements• Served as the network systems engineer in planning the DCPDS migration to Oracle IaaS• Served as backup lead for the annual Disaster Recovery Exercise resulting in one of the most efficient exercises to date• Performed requirements analysis, system architecture design, procurement support, and integration services for the DCPDS network

• Key team member on migrating three major Components to the Denver Data Center (DDC). Designed and supported implementation of a dedicated support environment and zone architecture at the DDC• Performed project management, planning, technical design, integration, and coordination actions for a number of key data center upgrades including firewalls, VPN, routers, switches, zone architecture, and various network and security tools• Aligned the DCPDS data center architecture with customer and DoD requirements• Provided functional expertise and technical direction in support of over 30 VPN tunnels including managing customer requirements, replacing End-of-Life VPN gateways, managing interface control documents, and supporting end users with VPN related issues• Provided technical guidance and leadership for the DCPDS network support team • Performed requirements analysis, system architecture design, procurement support, and integration services for the DCPDS network modernization projects resulting in a consolidated, efficient, and secure DCPDS data center architecture• Provided project management services on the DCPDS program for network and security related architecture projects• Effectively led the DoD cybersecurity DMZ Community of Interest Network (COIN) projects supporting requirements analysis, trade studies, and delivering detailed white papers to the DCPDS customer

• Currently providing support in the design and prototyping of NASA JSC’s new data center project. Investigating and testing new network virtualization technologies including virtual device contexts (VDC), virtual switching system (VSS), virtual port-channels, and VRF using next-gen data center Nexus 7010 and 6500E switches• Successfully managed an excellent team of ten motivated network engineers supporting NASA JSC Mission Control Center Operations• The MCCS network under my purview successfully supported over 25 Shuttle related missions and continuous Station support• Responsible for the administration, operation, and configuration management of 250+ network switches and routers resulting in five nines reliability. Devices include 6509, 6506, 3750G, 3800 series routers, ASA firewalls, and nexus 1000v • Played key role in leading the network team in upgrading the legacy NASA JSC mission networks and implementing a highly robust, stable, and efficient Switched Gigabit Ethernet network that has supported multiple missions without any critical issues• Evaluated, procured, and tested over $5M worth of networking equipment for the JSC network upgrade project. Multicast data delivery protocols (PIM-SM, IGMP) were tuned to meet NASA’s strict 60 second data failover requirements. • Delivered another Backup Command and Control Center (hot-site) in Huntsville, Alabama on schedule. Station Operations successfully transitioned to this new backup center when Hurricane Ike struck the Houston area• Served as an integral technical team member delivering internet access to the International Space Station while still adhering to strict security requirements• Provided technical expertise in the testing and troubleshooting of the new Front End Processing network that serves as the data delivery vehicle for Station and Shuttle core telemetry and command data

This issue had jeopardized critical ISS services between JSC and RSA
