Alfredo brings more than 30 years of experience in over 50 countries, focused on crisis management, bank restructuring, and analysis and modeling of banks and banking systems. He is particularly experienced in helping to guide solutions in highly fluid, complex, multi-stakeholder situations which are significant and sensitive at the country level.Alfredo has supported the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, and banking authorities during some of the most significant banking crises of the past 30 years, spanning all regions of the world. His experience includes the bottom-up financial, operational, and strategic restructuring of individual banks as well as top-down support of policy makers and regulators with broader financial sector challenges.Recent major engagements include assisting the Ukrainian banking authorities plan and execute the orderly nationalization of PrivatBank, which holds over 30 percent of retail deposits and 60 percent of retail card payments in the country. He also assisted in the design and implementation of a legal and forensic strategy to protect the nationalisation of PrivatBank and recover assets, with offensive and defensive, civil and criminal actions across multiple jurisdictions including the U.K. and U.S.Alfredo earned a bachelor’s degree from Imperial College and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
