Impact entrepreneur, researcher, and former photojournalist. My studies of water issues stem from my award-winning photojournalistic investigations and my experience in the fields of finance and economics. I conceptualized and co-designed the framework providing the first global assessment of the economic value generated by irrigation water — both with current crop distribution and with crops maximizing the value of water. I developed it in 2017 and then published it in 2020 in PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America) as part of a group project of UC Berkeley and Milan's Politecnico. As a visiting scholar in the Department of Environmental Science Policy and Management at U.C. Berkeley, I investigate the financial world's response to investment opportunities concerning water. In 2022, I founded All About Water, an AgTech – Fintech company with the mission of reducing the impact of global water risk and climate change on humanity by promoting a more sustainable and efficient use of water resources. The skills I honed as a photojournalist and director, as well as those as a producer and entrepreneur, enable me to manage multidisciplinary teams efficiently. My photojournalistic works have been published in major global publications and academic journals, including those of Harvard and DePaul University. I have contributed to and consulted for Sundance-awarded and Academy-Award nominated motion pictures and have given lectures worldwide on photography, communication, and water challenges.
