-Manage and execute the Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, Document Control and Program Management functions while providing cross-functional engineering leadership across all areas of the company.-Developed and implemented Engineering Design, Document Control and Change Control processes while simultaneously documenting the company’s flagship products for initial Production Release. Coordinated the completion of all work in 3 months, allowing for the full implementation of a new ERP system in January 2015.-Successfully managed the execution of Product Validation Testing per ISO 16750, 11452 and 7637 at Quanta and MET Laboratories ahead of schedule in April 2016. Completion of this testing was key to ensuring a critical customer contract and to fulfilling investor due diligence requirements during Series B fundraising efforts.-Concurrently managed several development projects; DFM/DFC Induction Motor, Planetary Gear Head, Next Generation Dynamometer and System Cooling Cart. Ensured teams were focused on the right priorities and that project milestones were completed on schedule to meet corporate objectives.

-Project Manager for MoXy 650kJ Fiber which was successfully launched August 2012.-Team Manager on RoHS Compliance Project. Managed a cross-functional team responsible for updating all mechanical designs and documentation for all products sold in Europe to ensure they meet the requirements of RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU. Perform mechanical evaluation and testing for all product design changes (mechanical, electrical, optical). Project completed on time to ship product by July 22, 2014.-San Jose Project Manager and Corporate Core Team Member for Implementation of Agile PLM Software. -Managed San Jose project team to collect and define system and process requirements; define data migration requirements; collaborate with IT to write and test data migration scripts; write and execute data migration test protocol and report; develop and document new Design Change Control and Document Control processes, procedures and forms; train all San Jose employees; collect metrics to compare pre- and post-go-live performance. -Represented San Jose facility on Corporate Core Team. Communicated San Jose requirements. Participated in the development of software configuration requirements and corporate processes & procedures. -Continue to represent San Jose post-launch as member of Agile Change Control Board.-Assigned to the MoXy project when the team missed the product launch date. Successfully led the resolution of Active Cooling Cap design, manufacturing and quality issues. Transitioned fabrication of metal cap to high volume manufacturer, Validated new design and implemented detailed inspection procedure.-Lead Mechanical Engineer on the design and development of the XPS 180W GreenLight Laser launched in 2010.-Member of several Continuous Improvement Teams over a 3 year period. Teams’ combined efforts resulted in total yearly savings of over $1,000,000.

Aqueduct Medical is a provider of post-surgical care products for cosmetic surgery patients. Operating on a little over $1 million in angel funding for 2 years, with a five-man team, we designed four UL & FDA approved products that are generating sales with nationally recognized surgeons. I took on many responsibilities on such a small team, including project management, engineering, manufacturing & supply chain management.-Project Manager & Lead Engineer to successfully complete the AqueShield Periorbital, Mandibular & Full Face Mask projects in parallel. Managed suppliers to reduce development time from 18 weeks to 12 weeks to meet critical project schedules.-Mechanical Design Engineer for AqueCool Device. Co-Managed industrial design firm in developing design of the device. Assumed responsibility for completing enclosure design and redesigning internal assembly to optimize manufacturability and reduce costs after industrial design was complete.-Worked with local CM to produce the AqueCool Device. Created assembly instructions and worked at CM’s facility to train the engineers and technicians on the assembly of our product.-Identified and managed Chinese supplier for sewn mask assemblies. Transitioned work performed by 3 different local suppliers to one facility. Resulted in 82% cost reduction ($20.45 to $3.65) of Periorbital Mask assemblies.-Co-Inventor on US Patent 20050187502 “Temperature-Controllable Device” 8/25/2005

Onetta developed the most advanced Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFAs) in the optical telecommunications industry, serving customers such as Cisco, ONI, Cienna, Lucent and Tellabs.-Lead Mechanical Engineer for all Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) product lines.-Mechanical redesign of IOE 11100 Long Haul/Ultra Long Haul Series EDFA product line resulted in 36% cost reduction ($582 to $371) of mechanical parts while greatly improving design flexibility, manufacturability, quality and reliability.-Implementation of Plastic Injection Molding on optical connector fiber assembly (pigtail) anchor resulted in 97% cost reduction ($16 to $0.50). Achieved a total cost savings of over $150,000 in the first year.-Implementation of Die Casting on IOE 11300 Metro/Regional Series EDFA product line resulted in 88% cost reduction ($280 to $35) of mechanical parts.-Worked with Manufacturing Engineering to transition products into manufacturing by providing detailed Assembly Instructions and overseeing product Beta builds on the manufacturing floor.-Work with vendors to resolve critical failures and determine Cause and Corrective Actions (C&CA). Most notably, worked with optical connector supplier over a one year period to fully understand all relevant pigtail assembly processes and requirements, including GR-326-CORE and IEC/PAS 61300-3-35. Our combined efforts resulted in improved manufacturing and inspection processes for our vendor and improved pigtail assembly designs and specifications for Onetta. The pigtail reject rate improved from 60% to 5%.-Worked with Reliability Engineering to prepare mechanical sections of Telecordia Qualification Test Plans/Test Reports and to perform/oversee mechanical qualification testing.-Played an integral role in the setup of Agile and of the Onetta documentation structure upon which all subsequent Onetta documentation, part numbers and BOMs are based.-Created and implemented Change Management Process.

Spectrian developed RF Amplifiers for the wireless telecommunications industry.-Led the Mechanical Design efforts for single- and multi-carrier high power RF Amplifiers-Performed thermal testing and analysis of RF Amplifiers using flow bench and Flotherm software supported by classical hand calculations.-Lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for supporting manufacturing in the production of all single-carrier amplifiers.-Created mechanical layouts, 3D solid models & assemblies, and detailed fabrication drawings for Machined, Die-Cast and Extruded Parts and Heat Sinks, Stamped Covers and Face Plates, electrical test fixtures, DC Harnesses and RF Cables.-Investigated EMI/RFI, thermal interface and heat sinking materials and technologies for insertion into current and future products.

I worked at TRW, which was later purchased by Northrop Grumman. TRW was a leading provider of satellites and satellite payloads to the US government and NASA.-Led the Mechanical Design efforts for the electronics packaging of RF and Digital modules into multi-slice units for integration onto satellite payloads.-Successfully completed the design of a critical RF module, added to the spacecraft 3 years into the design cycle, in time to be integrated into the payload and launched on schedule.-Lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for supporting production of entire RF payload.
