As a Grants and Partnership Manager for USAID Community and Health Nutrition (USAID CHN), I was a key player in our project in managing a sizeable portfolio of 6.5 million dollars distributed across a five-year project centered on community nutrition and health in three governorates in Jordan. The Grants Manager works closely with national partners to strategically plan, implement, and oversee grant activities related to Social and behavior change communication activities in the field of community health and nutrition to make sure they are in line with CHN goal and objectives. Ensuring compliance with donor standards and organizational policies, the Grants Manager oversees a committed team of grants specialist and operation officers, coordinating all aspects of the grant life cycle from design to closing. This dynamic role emphasizes the manager's leadership, financial judgment, and capacity to build cooperative partnerships for successful project outcomes.

• Manage the USD700,000 In-kind grants, and training programs under the Youth Innovation Fund function, in addition to managing youth-led initiatives under nine thematic areas;• Manage the contractual and technical requirements of Fixed Amount Award (FAA) grant to develop standard curricula and training materials for subject matters; • Provide mentoring to more than 300 youth to qualify as initiatives designers, and trainers on the PAVAL toolkit in line with YPD approach; • Provide technical support to the Chief of Party and the Manager of the Innovation Fund regarding related tasks and responsiblities; • Create linkages with the youth to design and implement their initiatives under standard and in-kind small grants; • Provided support to youth from initiatives design to the closing: train them to design, develop action plan and activities, review reporting, publications and other submissions, technical guidance in the field, attend events, coaching and mentorship and other type of support; and • Supervise three Innovation Fund Officers and provided technical support to manage the work of grantees from the civil society, and youth.

• Managed diverse and complex types of grants at JOD 1.5M implemented by civil soceity with the aim of cultivating a strong and vibrant civil society across Jordan. Themes included: Environment, Agriculture, Water, Energy, Tourism, Antiquities, Education, Youth empowerment and Advocacy;• Provided support to grantees including: review and approve strategies and action plans, grantees’ submissions (e.g. research, analysis, fact sheets, position papers, policy papers, publications);• Mentored grantees field activities (e.g. workshops, trainings, open days, community mobilizations, dialogue with decision makers, closing ceremony); • Reviewed and approved grants’ modifications, deliverables, achievements and milestones;• Coordinated with Grants Finance Team spending, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, budget analysis, and adherence to special awards conditions; and • Supported USAID CIS grants roadshows including the participation and delivery of knowledge sessions in grants solicitation workshops nationwide; and • Supported grantees in the design of their specific action plans, M&E plans as well as monitor their performance and produce success stories.

• Supported the Grants Manager and Fund Director in managing a portfolio of more than JOD 1M in grants and around JOD 4M in contracts. Supervised three field-based Grants Officers in Irbid, Tafileh and Mafraq. • Improved internal controls, reporting, documentation standards, and ensured compliance with USAID CEP rules and regulations including budget and expense analysis, invoicing, financial reporting, reconciliations, and reallocation• Supported all internal coordination activities related to grants administration for grantees• Provided assistance and supervised the Grants Officers in Irbid, Tafileh and Mafraq teams with grant agreement preparations, internal clearance procedures, and financial, administrative, and technical monitoring and disbursements of payments• Assisted in training of grantees on USAID Policy and Procedures for compliance• Maintained grants management systems, conducted due diligence with grantees, reviewed governance and legal documents of potential grantees, and performed post-award functions• Provided support to the Grants team in capacity building workshops and ongoing technical assistance for project partners in grants management and financial administration

Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying requests for proposal and donor format and requirements; interviewing the applicants; gathering proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals; develops proposal by assembling information including project idea, objectives, outcomes, deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.

• Developed systematic and realistic monitoring plan that capture quantitative and qualitative data to report on program key performance indicators (KPIs)• Participated in developing data collection tools and instruments• Coordinated the implementation of surveys, focus group discussions, interviews and follow-up on monitoring and evaluation exercises for various initiatives in the targeted areas.• Lead monitoring efforts in the program to ensure full compliance with standards for learning and document, disseminated and ensured utilization of relevant learning• Established and maintained a comprehensive and an updated database for the program• Built the capacity of Field Officers and program teams on the data collection, data management, analysis, reporting techniques and requirements for relevant donors• Facilitated documentation, project data, lessons learnt and best practices for internal and external sharing; ensure compliance with Mercy Corps and donor policies and regulations.

Managed administratively and compliant of two grants schemes i.e. Research & Development and Start Up Business with a budget of € 1 Million. Including the following: • Due diligence phase: Assisted the program manager in developing the grant procedures, and prepare the request for proposals and the info presentations; Managed the process of receiving the applications; Evaluated the applications administratively; Organized the process of technical evaluation with the help of short term experts; Organize the selection and negotiate process with the potential applicants; Notified the granted applicants; prepared the contracts to be signed between the two parties. • Implementation phase: Followed up with the awarded applicants the implementation on the ground; conducted awareness session, workshops, training and capacity building sessions; visited the awardees in the field and provide them with technical assistant to be compliant with the donor.
