Dr Ali Al Harthy is currently a Professor of Civil Engineering. He served as Dean of the College of Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman from 2007 to 2014. After his B.Sc. in CE from the university of Colorado and Master Eng. from the University of Ottawa, he worked as civil engineer in Public Works and managing director of Gulf Engineering Consultancy in Muscat. His specialties are in Strucural Engineering, Strucural Safety, Civil Engineering Materials, material durability, recycling in construction and engineering education. In addition to more than 90 publications in refereed international journals and conferences, he is a member of ASCE, Fellow at the Institute of Civil Engineers ICE, ENVISION professional with the institute of sustainability of infrastructure and registered consultant in Oman Society of Engineers.
