Responsibilities: • Source, select and purchase the most promising merchandise that adheres to the quality, quantity and specifications of the product designs.• Devise a merchandising plan to order the right merchandise, at the right place, in the right quantity, at right prices and on the right time.• Build strong relations with the suppliers and negotiate prices with them on regular basis.• Work closely with the designers and design department for product development and to make decisions regarding fabric, colors, designs etc.• Examine the historical sales trends in order to predict the forthcoming product needs.• Attend fashion shows and seminars in order to determine the changing trends in apparel.• Visit the retail outlet every now and then to assist the sales representative on how to stock and display the merchandise at the stores.• Work on the stores visual displays when required.• Manage and organize the inventory to keep track of the inventory moving in and out of the facility as well as the store. Also, to make decisions regarding restocking of shelves in appropriate quantities.• Make arrangements for the transportation of the merchandise.• Hold meetings with the sales personnel when introducing new merchandise.• Coordinating with the production teams to ensure timely deliveries of orders at the retail outlet.• Pricing and costing.
