Having worked in Finance and Management for over 20 years, I am now loving working within children's education and welfare, re-training in 2019. I am passionate about being part of a child's experiences in their educational journeys, alongside supporting both their social and emotional development. I have had the pleasure of learning, and experiencing many life changing moments, whilst working within educational type settings including helping little ones enjoy and learn through stories and messy play, and having worked as a Nursery Practitioner, TA, HLTA and 1:1 SEND practitioner in Primary schools. I am now working for such an aspirational company, helping children to find their own way back into education through support, care and teaching, ensuring 'no child is left behind.' I feel so passionate about making a difference to young peoples lives, making sure they feel cared for and supported. I am feeling very excited and hopeful for what the future holds in Education and Welfare, and hope to be a part of it for many years.

I help the children learn to recognise and write their name and numbers to ten, encouraging their fine and gross motor skills, teaching them social and emotional skills such as sharing, turn taking, sitting on the carpet, listening, conversing and understanding, with new and improved vocabulary. We use positive behaviour reinforcement, nurturing and patience, and a mix of adult and child led play, alongside phonics, plan-do–review and group time. I was then asked to additionally provide 1:1 support for a child in year 4 with Autism, needing most help with social and emotional skills, and literal interpretation of the curriculum core subjects In addition I cover teacher absence in years four and five, in my capacity as an HLTA, taking various subject lessons and each week I take a Peer Autism awareness class with children from years four through to six, building awareness in autodiversity and the importance of tolerance among our peers.
