About Ali Corey
As the Executive Director for CPT Coalition Initiatives I am serving to utilize innovative ideas and collaboration to consider and develop how all programs across the largest school (Counseling, Therapy and Psychology) rise to the mission of The Coalition of The Common Good. Together with leaders across the institutions, we are working as part of the Coalition of the Common Good to increase access to education across the country! I love working to develop community partnerships! Leadership development is a core part of the work I do and I have been focused most recently on Trauma Informed Leadership Practice. I am working on my second doctorate in Leadership and Change to deepen my understanding of what is needed to effectively lead in our ever changing world!I have been a counselor educator for the last 12 years and previously served as the Department Chair for the CMHC Department at Antioch University. Our department has 26 full time faculty and over 400 students, serving students through online and face-to-face deliveries.I work as a Mental Health Counselor seeing children, adolescents and adults. I specialize in treating children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. I also work with couples and families.

My ideal client is an adolescent, male or female, struggling with identity issues, stress, depression, anxiety, impulse control or family/relationship issues. I am best suited to adolescents who struggle trusting others and opening up as I have found that I have a strong ability to connect to young people who are highly resistant. I often integrate family work as I find that it is essential to treat the whole system and not just one member of the family unit.I have specialized in working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. I utilize TF-CBTand DBT treatment methods to work with children and adolescents who are trying to cope with trauma.
